About MonitorEDU
MonitorEDU is approved by the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance to serve as your
proctor. This service allows you to take your exam from the comfort of your home or office.
You will connect with the proctor using:
• A computer to take your exam
• A smartphone camera for monitoring
If needed, you may use a tablet or second laptop (such as an iPad) as your camera.
Before starting your exam, please review the following:
• Set up your mobile phone (see instructions below)
• Check your internet connection (see instructions below)
Step 1: Pay for your exam
1. Click 'Pay for Exam' below
- A separate browser tab will open
- Read the heads up message, then follow the prompts to complete payment
- Cost: $18 per exam
2. Write down your order number from the confirmation screen.
- If the order number is not visible, you will receive an email confirmation with a 4 digit receipt code, use that instead.
3. Close the payment window once complete.
Step 2: Connect to your proctor
1. Click 'Connect to Proctor' below
2. Complete the onboarding process
- Follow the on screen instructions
- Read and confirm all agreements to rules and policies
- When prompted enter the following details:
- Name
- Phone Number
- Exam type (select 'Other Exam' unless it is self-paced or Analysis of Risk)
- Order number or Receipt Code (if you can't find one of these, enter HELP)
3. After completing the onboarding process you will be on the chat page, be sure to click the start chat button in the chat popup.
- Do NOT close or refresh the page as that will reset your place in line. Your proctor will connect with you soon.

Set up your mobile phone
1. Download Google Meet from your app store.
2. Open the app on your device.
3. Tap 'New'→ 'Create link' → 'Join'
4. Confirm you can see yourself on screen.
Note: When you are connected to your proctor, they will provide you with a meeting code to join the google meeting.
Important notes
• A Gmail account is not required.
• A tablet may be used instead of a smartphone.
• Keep your device charged and plugged in during the exam.

Before starting:
• Confirm your Wi-Fi connection is active.
• Minimum speed: 1 Mbps
• Test at: https://www.speedtest.net/
